Asking ChatGPT and Perplexity…

This takes a few seconds — the engines are running live web searches.

What this score does and doesn't mean. This measures whether AI search currently cites your domain for these prompts — it is not a guarantee, a ranking you can buy, or a growth hack. Citations depend on being indexed (ChatGPT web search rides Bing), relevant, and trustworthy. A low score means "not cited for these prompts right now," not a verdict on your site.

How to check your AI search visibility

Four steps from a domain to an honest read on whether AI engines cite you.

1

Enter your domain

Type the domain you want to check, for example example.com — the bare host, no https or path needed.

2

Add a topic or keyword (optional)

Give the subject you want to rank for, such as project management software, so we can phrase realistic buyer questions.

3

We ask the AI engines live

We send a handful of real prompts to Perplexity and ChatGPT web search and read back the sources each answer cited.

4

Read your visibility score

See a 0 to 100 score, a per-engine breakdown of which prompts cited your domain, and an honest read on why.

AI visibility questions

AI search visibility — sometimes called GEO, generative engine optimization — is whether AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews cite your site as a source when they answer questions in your topic. Unlike a classic blue-link ranking, there is no single position: an engine either pulls your page into its cited sources for a given prompt or it does not. This grader measures that: for a set of realistic prompts, is your domain among the sources the AI actually shows.
We take your domain and topic and generate a few buyer-style prompts, then ask them live to Perplexity and ChatGPT web search. Each answer comes back with a list of cited source URLs. We check whether your domain appears in those sources and, if so, at what rank. The score is simply the share of prompt-and-engine checks that cited you. It is a live snapshot, not a stored ranking — run it again and results can shift as the engines re-crawl the web.
An AI engine can only cite pages it can find and trust. First you have to be indexed — ChatGPT web search rides on Bing, so if Bing has not indexed you, ChatGPT cannot cite you. Then your page has to be genuinely relevant to the prompt and come from a source the model treats as credible. A low score usually means one of those is missing: not indexed, not on-topic for that phrasing, or outranked by more authoritative sources. It is not a verdict on your whole site — only on these specific prompts, right now.
No. There is no pay-for-citation slot in ChatGPT or Perplexity, and anyone selling one is selling nothing. You earn a citation the same way you earn organic search: be indexed, be genuinely relevant to the question, and be trustworthy enough that the model reaches for you. This tool measures whether that is happening — we do not sell placement, and we cannot buy it for you. Honest measurement is the whole point.
